|DanTwoLakes||Right you are, it's tough as nails and won't rot in any way. Earlier in this thread, I said that Typar and Tyvek house wrap were made of the same thing. While that is true, they both are made from polypropylene, Typar is 5 times tougher than Tyvek.|

|Coodeville||It seems like real tough stuff and it won't rot either.|

|DanTwoLakes||Typar is made from polypropylene, which is a thermoplastic polymer. It has 33 lbs of tear strength.|

|DanTwoLakes||It doesn't need to be that thick. You're thinking of a different type of denim. I'm talking about the kind of denim used for decking material under seat cushions on a couch, not the kind of denim used to make blue jeans.|

|DanTwoLakes||Yes, that's denim decking material, or at least that's what I call it. You can make your own if you want, it can be made out of just about anything that will hold a hog ring. Did it have wires in it?|

|Coodeville||Here's a picture of the original stuff. It measures 1 1/4 inches|

|DanTwoLakes||The original on your seats was probably made from denim decking. Perfect fit has typar listing: CLICK HERE|

|Coodeville||I can't figure out what the original stuff was made out of. Does Perfectfit sell ?Typar?|

I use pre-made Typar listings that come in large rolls. Typar is the same thing Tyvek house wrap is made from. I keep 3 different sizes on hand, 1" 1 1/2" and 2" wide listings with cord sewn into them. If I don't need the cord I just take it out. The cord is sewn in with a chain stitch, so it comes out very easily.
You can really use almost any reasonably durable fabric. Denim decking material works fine, as does Versare.

I'm coming towards the end of my first major practice project with the 1970 Cadillac drivers seat back. The next thing is the listing. What should I use for it?
