Sorry I don't have experience with your 65, but I do have a great deal of experience with hydraulics. Hydraulic cylinders will bleed themselves when the system is operated from open to closed , it may take several times. Note it maybe jerky until the air is bled off. Then re-check your fluid level. About the fluid I have never know power steering or automatic transmission fluid to hurt these things. They both have anti-foaming additives needed for most hydraulic systems.

Convertible Top Motor 65 Chevy

Hey everyone.I have a 1965 Chevy Impala and I need to know if anyone has the answers to some of my questions about my Convertible top motor.What kind of Oil am I supposed to put in the Convertible Top Motor?Also,how do I get the air out of the hoses that run to the Cylinders?If anyone out there knows anything about this,please reply.Thanks,
