Actually I'm Sonoma County based. I have had a lot of time at Sears Point on track, at events, mechanic work, etc... However, I have a huge desire to check out other race tracks in person regardless if there is a race happening or not. I have seen the track in race simulators, but never in person.

Maybe its an addiction? Its like watching the thunder from a distance while the clouds roll towards you. You can't help but stare.

And I agree, Monterey is a booming musical orchestra of wonderful music.

Remember anyone planning on going to Dream Machines, GET THERE EARLY! Get into town no later than 9:00 and get out no later than 2:00 or you will be screwed. And hwy 84 is a great alt to get out there 92 gets real funky.

65GTO455 Sounds like a blast! I would go just to drop down to Laguna Seca and check out the track as well. I have yet to see it in person and have been looking for an excuse to do so.

dinger Brian is right, this is one of the best all around shows I know of in the country. Airplanes, tractors, commercial vehicles, new and old, "green", cars, trucks, all in one of the prettiest parts of the world. Look across the airport, there is the Pacific Ocean. I am going to do my bestest to go this year. A guy could plan a family vacation around this, San Francisco is just a hop and a short jump away.

If you live anywhere near the SF bay area, if you have some vacation time coming and want to get away from it all to see the best all around "car" show in America you need to make it out to BEAUTIFUL Half Moon bay on the first of May!

click here for last years highlights.
