I think you need to contact the owner direct. The owner D & J Machinery is Benjamin E. Jecmen he lives at 5111 E Charleston Ave, Scottsdale, AZ 85254. He has taken a lot of money for several people either paying for engines upfront and not delivering them or selling an engine that is not working. He also owns a company called Big Block Development LLC under the D & J Machine umbrella. Really pursue this issue and also file a report on Ripoff Report | Scams, reviews, complaints, lawsuits and frauds. File a report, post your review. Consumers educating consumers. - several people have posted information about this company. You can also contact the local Better Business Bureau in Arizona - file a complaint online. You can also file a claim with the courts - under $3500 its small claims over it's civil. I hope you get your money back...

. From the postings here, looks like this company started getting flaky in Feb. 2013 and has now descended into a total SCAM... several people have engines ordered, money PAID, still no engine shows up MONTHS LATER... not answering phones unless placing a new order...

|Chuck127||The question was asked about Tuff Dawg engines. I gave my opinion of the company supposedly manufacturing them. I see nothing wrong with my comment as a response to the question.|

|Chuck127||We filed a complaint with the BBB. I wouldn't want anyone else spending money to restore a car, which isn't a little, to end up in the position I am in. I think my only recourse is to see a lawyer now.|

Tuff Dawg Engines
Thanks for the reply. It seems that Tuff Dawg used to be pretty reliable. But now they have taken a differen't path to riches.

|JeffB||Recently complaints have shown up on the HAMB too about Tuff Dawg taking the money and not shipping.Since I live in Phoenix I bought some parts from them they seemed helpful and I told an online buddy a couple years ago about their crate engines He bought a 302 SBF and was very happy with it.Sadly it seems some of these old companies change for the worse when the founders retire which was the case with the now defunct Speed-O-Motive which there are horror stories here in the archives. With any vendor use Google and type the companies name with the word complaints added in the text and see what comes up.|

|OKCDusty||I can't speak to the quality of their engines, but purchased a 283 crate engine in May of 2014. I neither received the engine nor got my money back.|

Hey chuck, again, they sorted this out a year and a half ago.
For the record, proper etiquite would be to start a thread of your own, perhaps asking for advice on how to handle a vendor, or feel free to post your personal experience with a vendor and ask how other have dealt with a possible problem.
Just my 2 cents.

|Chuck127||DO NOT deal with this company. I ordered an engine from them on March 30 and I am still waiting. They do not answer their phone or emails and when you do get through they lie to you. I was told on June 20 that the engine would be shipped in 2 weeks. Each time I have gotten through to them, by using a friends phone so they don't recognize who is calling, I am told the same thing, it will be shipped in 2 weeks. Find an engine somewhere else.|

|JeffB||And to quote Paul Harvey "And the rest of the story" And like posted above your first "contribution" to this site is to bash a business|

|327NUT||You know Greg, not taking sides or anything but I just called Tuff Dawg, the owner told me that if you are the man that put that engine in a boat then you were out of the warranty period. He also said that you sent them an email telling them that the engine blew up and you wanted a completely new engine.....is that true? First post "raw doggin" an engine builder? He's waiting for you to call him @ 1 (602) 395-0800|
