so we have sprayed many coats of lacquire primer and block saned then orderd summit single stage paint in flame red.
can you spray this paint right over top of this primer?
first of all-- i can't believe that you used a laquer primer for what it sounds like (complete paint job), or should i say --who talked you into it ? this is 2011 , and a 2 component urathane would have been so much nicer for you to work with !
minimal shrinkage with excellent filling and sanding !
well it is what it is---soooooo lets get on with it--guide coat what you have -- then cut it all w/at least 320--you'll need a quart of inexpensive (polyvinal sealer-- single stage)two wet coats ,and tack in between--this is a non sanding sealer, and goes on a little like water-- so be carefull(if you do have to sand some small areas--use soapy water & 600 paper) final tack , and apply finish----
believe me "blasterguy" i know how much sanding it takes to cut lacquer prime down ! it's just about double--now refering to the next page wear you purchased your paint--http://www.paintforcars.com/2k_primer.html--had this product been used== 3 wet coats--guide coat next day sand 75 to 80% with 180 grit dry--then re guidecoat, and finish off with 320 to 400 !
the lacquer prime is ok in some small areas , but on an overall it has a tendacy to hairline crack in a couple years---then you get to strip the whole car-cuz it's not the paint that cracks ! it's the lacquer primer ! your finish product of acrylic enamel is not going to hold a shine very long eather (not where you live) this is the reason they quit using these products in the factorys , and switched to the base / clear --these products have a greater hold out against the ultravilets from the sun--and YES ! there are also paint failures here , but they are still far superior to the acrylic's !! one of the other points to make is , you are using red--this is going to take at least 3 coats (theirs no lead in paint anymore, its 's just red dye) med to wet on first --wet on second, and wet on third ! what it looks like when your finished , is what it will look like the next morning
PS----i sure hope you have hardener for your paint !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
good luck .........steven
