you have to take the inner race out to install it. should just drop right down in (only will go in 1 way) and install the snap ring. once you have it in, then you can install the inner race. pic A looks right to me, just gotta take the race out.
Ok, I took the inner race out. and it only went in like image B, with the inner tabs facing up.
I then installed the snap rings. Then tried to to put in the inner race, but it would not go in either way.
I can fit the race into the roller clutch assembly, but cant get them both into the retainer, or

Getting all three to fit seems impossible.
I must be doing something wrong here, it cant be that hard.

once youve got the roller assembly in the center support. the inner race has to be "rolled" in at a very slight angle. its not easy, especially for the first time, when i was a teen at my dads shop i built 350's ( or engine or cylinder head rebuilding) during summer break from school, and it took me what seemed like forever before i could get the inner race to go in.
i recommend that everything is dry as it will help the race catch the rollers and "roll" in place. ive tried assembly gel or other lubes, and it was just a slimy mess that didnt work for me.
oh and your right, it does go in like in pic B. i should know better than that 1st thing in the morning when im not quite awake yet. from the front side showing in the pic, if you face towards you, the race should turn clockwise.
See that was the trick, i had that race lubed up like a slimy squid, and the slight angle also helped.
Here is the final result does it look right?, is the roller clutch the right way?
The race locks up when i turn it to the left(or counter clockwise) and freewheels when i turn the race to the right (or clockwise).
