|cyclopsblown34||Thanks for the replies. I ended up picking the little blighter out of it, hib filed the dust and then scuffed the whole stripe with 1500 grit. It looks as if nothing was ever wrong with it. The car owner is ticled pink. I'll post up some pictures on Monday. Hopefully we get some sun so I can get some outside pictures.|

Chip, at least you had the pleasure of watching him die!
You can sand it but if you buff it the gloss will come back, so sand it and spot the color over it.

What about a 3M yellow polishing pad that should work on the bug problem not real sure about the dust though. JMO

Kamikaze bug and ome dust in satin black can it be cut?
Imma gonna try and cut this trash out of the finish and see what happens. SEM never fessed up since the QC person is out til Tuesday. I went ahead and grabbed a gram scale, paint and flattening compound mixed, sprayed and tracked percentages til the desired lack of sheen. I sprayed it and a kamikaze bug made himself nice and dead in the middle of the DS stripe on the hood, the dust is livable but I'm being anal and want to remove the dust and bug.
