If you don't have the block plate you'll need that also.
They have it at the link, It's a used part $50

Don't you have any of these parts? wasn't the converter & flex plate with the trans? why are you asking the price of a C4 you said you have one, is it burnt-up? These transmissions are simple to rebuild. (you rebuild around $300)

You can buy a new flex plate at the auto parts store. I think it's 157 tooth $45.& up

The converter, you need to know the spline count of the trans your using to get the correct converter?

Ok, so... next question...

What should I expect to pay for a used C4?

Also, as for the bell housing, converter and flex plate... what should i expect those to run me?

For the 200CI 6cyl. You just need to use the 6 cylinder bell housing, converter, & flex plate, & your C4 will bolt right up.

Irelands child The C4 has a separate bell housing that may need to be changed. There are at least 6 different bell housings, but the transmission is the same until you get to the input spline - then the torque converter has to match. Depending on the year, that spline went from 24/24 to 26/26. The cut off year is 1970 but in '71 Ford went to a 26/24.

Then those bell housings - that also meant a different diameter flex plate and ring gear tooth count number plus the right converter. Not insurmountable once the transmission is out - but a crap shoot after 40 plus years and folks fixing plus mixing and matching.

Oh yeah, then there is pan fill (early) and case fill (later) versions, but that should not make any difference

Parts are easily and fairly reasonably available.

Mustang C4 Tranny Compatibility

Ok, I have a C4 Tranny that was attached to my 67 289 Engine. I am considering using this tranny in a different project... the new engine is a 66 Ford Straight 6 set up.

Will everything bolt up correctly? Are all bolt patterns the same? If not, what do i need to do in order to get this tranny / engine combo matched up (if at all possible).
