tlambert Besides my BBS-10 I have a friend that has one set up alot like mine but the difference is the engine mounts that he used, which was the 3/8 thick mounting plates from Hooker. It set the engine really high but there was very little cutting he had to do plus his doesn't have A/C. I used 60's rubber mounts that bolt to the engine and welded mounting tabs to the cross member to bolt the mounts to. This set the engine very low in the engine compartment and created more work but it has the stock style BB short water pump assessories on it, A/C, P/S, C/C, P/B, and the stock hood will shut!
Don't let anyone fool you, what I did to make it all work and drive right took alot of attention to detail to look close to a stock BB... just in the S-10
If anyone wants more details I can e-mail you what I did in a Word document.

357f-150 I think the only major thing done to my brothers s-10 was a small dimple in the side of the trans tunnel.

This is my favorite picture but I am biased.

V8 S-10 Here's a article I scanned a while back...

That's like my favorite V8 s10 of all time. Just goes to show that you don't have to Chop beat and hack to get a bigblock in a s10.
You'd be surprised at how many people think you've got to butcher stuff to get even a smallblock in one.

357f-150 Nice BBC s-10's!

I think its almost easier to drop a BBC in an s-10 than it is to drop a 351w in a ranger.

My brother had a 468 in a 83 s-10 blazer, that sucker was a blast, I enjoyed tinkering on that thing for him. Talk about torque..he cracked the floor pan from the drivers pedals to the rear of the front seat.

65 Imp SS A buddy of mine had ran with a 454 in his S10. It started as a Pro street project with a "mild" BB and tubbed with 4 link and yes he made his own headers. By the time he was done it had become a 1/4 miler . The thing that was nice was how consistant it was. Then he sold it to go faster

tlambert It will fit with a little time and lots of patience. I've been driving mine some during the week and on the weekends to local car shows. It has a/c, p/s, p/w, p/b, cc, automatic on the column, so far I have close to 3,000 miles on it. Its a blast to drive! E-mail me & I will send some pics.
By the way it is For Sale.

Jay396 true big blocks weigh more, so get some alum. heads and make it a little lighter, they can and do fit, however you have to do some fudging with the fire wall to get the distributor to fit and may have to relieve it down by the exhaust, or have some custom headers made, kinda like a gasser. If you've got the money go big block, build a 468 with dart pro 1's get a wild sold roller cam, single plane intake and a dominator, run a dana sixty rear end shorten it and put the biggest meats you can find with a racing 4links coilover set up. run a forged lower end and put 200 horse worth of laughing gas to it, and send the small block boys packing, big dog is comin out to play so the little guys stay on the porch.
