Plenty did, but not many 7.5" rears, so a 4cyl truck is pretty much out.. You can go by the axle code, or the axle tag.. F ( 7.5" ) or R ( 8.8" ) are the LS axle codes for Ranger.. If you go by the tag, it is usually held on by a cover bolt, and if you clean it up, you will find all the info about that axle including the ratio.. An L/S rear will have an L in the ratio, so it will say like 3 L 73 or 4 L10
If you are axle swapping, then you might look into Explorer Axles. There a little wider, but swap in pretty easy, and easier if you want to lower, because they eliminate the need for a flip kit ( axle over leaf, like the explorer ).. They are 31 Spline, limited slip is easier to find and 1995-2001 are disc brake
I ve read that Mustang gt LS parts also work . Ive put rear ends together in the wrecking yards, mustang 4 bolt starting point. used ranger 5 bolt axles and lincoln 5 bolt rear disc brakes
