I recently purchased some slot wheels that are brushed aluminum. There is some oxidation marks on the rims. What can I use to remove this and clean them up? The wheels are not high shine I do not think.
If they have a clear coat on them, use a fine drywall sanding screen and do it dry while wearing a dust mask. Then start with 600 grit and work your way up to a mirror finish say 600, 800 then 1200. Then buff with aluminum polish and a pow-r-ball thingy. Wash them with clean water and a cloth and then apply a good coat of wax.
get some wheel cleaner for chrome wheels (it should say do not use on alum. wheels) this will have acid in it
squirt it on and do some scrubbing with a green scrubby scotch brite and it will clean them right up
