You know whats funny? I've never heard anyone say anything bad at all about it,other than how we sound cultish,But when you use a product that is so much better than anything you've used in your entire career you just gotta turn other people on to it. Who cares how we sound, we're right. I've been using this epoxy for many years and I can tell you there is no other epoxy thats as good as SPI....NONE...Now with the UV protection its a hotrodders dream primer ....I wasnt kidding when I said I going to clear directly over it... Does it come in triple black???? :mwink: Very smart move Barry...

I get comments occasionally now that I have switched completely to SPI. Usually is it something similar to "how can a company even compete more or less have better products than PPG or the like with millions in R&D". I am sold after using different products...sure can't find anything better in the price. I love the SPI epoxy most of all, so this is very good news.

the answer to that is, the same way a guy in his garage in the back yard can create award winning show cars just like the guy in his million dollar facility.

I'll keep paying half the price for quality products (just as good or better than ppg, akzo, basf) while the others that continue to be in disbelief help pay for the million dollar shop down the street and their $100k paint booths.

That is very true. You are not paying for the sponsorships, ad revenue, and corporate CEO salaries. No thousand dollar hammers here, just quality products. The SPI primer and epoxy is about the same price as what I was paying from a "name-brand" company, but the quality is much better. I don't know all of the chemical formulas or do corrosion tests, but from what I can tell I am very happy - ease of spraying, excellent sandability, and a very adaptable product to whatever I am trying to accomplish. One of the biggest advantages to SPI is their customer support. Quick to answer any questions and very fast shipping...I get my order in two days.

That said, I would probably kill a kitten for a 100K paint booth.

Well, guys think barry just showed up out of no where and started making paint. He's been in the paint manufacturing business many years before spi and knows his stuff.

You cant find another paint company that gives such support and actually cares about their customers. Someone show me and i'll shut up. You never get a bs "corporate" answer.

Stupid Question time....so now its UV Stabilized/protected, its OK to use as a "Top Coat" if you wish?
First thing that came to mind when I read this thread is on my Plow resto...now I could in theory shoot the epoxy primer on the individual parts & pieces...Then Assemble...THEN Topcoat with the correct colors. If I miss a little un-seen spot or area, it should be no biggie with this new forumulation?
