I really don't know much about pricing but show-oriented builds like that depend heavily of course on the mechanical components used, and the condition of the starting point. And who you ask. Something with looks like that will probably cost six figures to build. I have heard of some pro shops starting at over a quarter million but for half that you can amaze your friends, thats for sure.

1955-59 Chevrolet 3100 Small Window to Big Window Conversion
This project is coming to a conclusion. Just about done and ready to start the next phase on the truck. Painted the interior and had a pro install the rear window glass. Even got the Cruz sticker off my old small window and planted on its new home.
Check out my build Journal to see the process of the small window to big window conversion. Anyone could do it.

1957 Chevrolet 3100 Truck small window to big window conversion
Thought I would post my most recent project on my 57 Chevrolet Truck. I bought a big window section a few years ago with the intention to cut my truck and implant the new section. Finally got around to starting last Tuesday. I am adding all the photos from this weeks progress to my build journal.

best website for the engine is right here (had to get that in the intro )
best website for your truck and more chevy truckohaulics projects is
The 1947 - 1959 Chevrolet & GMC Pickups Message Board - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network
that side mounted spare looks a little low for a 3100 6 ft bed
looking again, if your truck has has 8 lug wheels and a 7 ft bed it is a 3600, 3/4 ton truck
3100 half ton to 3800 one ton are pretty much the same truck with few suspension modifications
same cab for 55-59 trucks, same stepside bed 54-mid80s, same rear fenders 55-66
front fenders, hood and grill changed year to year except 58-59
parts: lmc truck, brothers trucks, jim carter, mar-k to name a few
fyi... apache was 58 to 63
task force is 55-59, no idea why chevy split the apache name between 2 completely different body styles

New owner- 57 Apache
My dad and I recently reconnected. I've got my own family now, but he is invloved in my life in a big way again. We always talked about restoring a truck together. The past is the past , here is to the future.
This week (2.22.16) we purchased a 57 Apache ... I believe 3100.
It's got a 327 w/ a 4 speed trans ... It may be the sm465
I will post more pictures soon.
We don't really know what we're doing to begin. But we are excited to learn.
Hoping this community will help us out:

|cal1320||Made some more improvements on the truck. Changed the engine to a GM 10067353, moved the fuel tank to the rear with a 57 Belair tank, and am in the process of installing a new roof. Need to have the seat refoamed and install seat heaters before March 2016. Planning a 2200 mile trip to Austin Tx and back.|

Sold my 57 almost a year ago, it went to a gentleman in Texas, when he got it he tore it down to the bare frame and started rebuilding from there.
