I have a 46 ford coupe with a sbc in it and a R and P steering. With that said if you are going to use a manual steering and a stock front end, Then IMHO you will have to use the stock or same size as stock steering wheel. They are very hard to turn at slow speeds, very hard. I have a smaller than stock wheel on mine with manual steering and it is a b---h to turn at a stop or going very slow. I didn't build the car and I have not changed it yet. I did have a 40 2dr with cross steer and put power on it and it was too much as you could hardly touch the wheel.
