Augusto my bad, it's a flexplate, automatic transmission.

it doesn't have any weigths, it's a regular 350 unit for sure.

but the engine is not damaged, maybe I stopped it just in time...

DoubleVision Far as I know they`re external balance on a 454.
If a non external balanced job was installed it wouldn`t have ran very
long before it destroyed the thrust surface. One time when I happened
to be in the same place where a guy swapped on a new flexplate on
His 400 small block that was a 350 unit, he got out of the driveway and
about 60 yards away before it started knocking.
In this case do you mean flywheel as in for a stick shift or flexplate for a automatic?

OOOOPS...!!! 454 flywheel.. wrong part???

454 flywheels do have balancing weights on them right?

I just discovered that my engine is running with a regular non balanced 350 flywheel, but I haven't noticed any strange vibrations.

my engine comes from a 1984 C30 pickup, did this engine come from the factory with a balanced flywheel? are all 454's externally balanced?

the previous owner must have changed it and didn't noticed the difference.

I'm doing a cam swap and some minor porting before it goes into the engine bay of a '46 chevy, will bolt to a modified TH350 with a 2.200rpm converter and 4.11 rear end.
