as for purpose built show cars i think those are reallly cool just like what you are doing its really a work of automotive art.
Thanks... I was shooting for more of a piece of art with this one when I first started the build... I really didn't care if I ever drove it... But I will...

Just wasn't in my plan.. I wanted a old show rod ..

I picked up a pair of those recently at a swap meet, figured I'll use them sooner or later.

I remember going to shows and when voting Peoples choice I never voted for a shop built car. I remember going to vote for one and a friend said "He HAD that car built, he doesn't deserve to win". And I agreed and didn't vote on it. But I soon met a man who changed all that.
I found myself at a car show down south and I was staying at the same hotel as a big shot who had his car built. I didn't know the guy, my truck was parked next to him and he was checking it out and we struck up a conversation and I ended up spending the entire weekend with him. He was SUCH a nice guy, he had built some cars when he was a kid but now after all those years he had the money to have what ever he wanted built, he designed it, he had done what he would do himself if he had the time, the tools and yeah, maybe the talent. But it was HIS car and damn it, he deserved it! I never looked at those guys the same again. It's cheap and unfair to look at them that way.

Yep, they have the dough I don't, so what. If the car deserves my vote I am going to give it to them. Now don't get me wrong, if there are two equal cars I am going to give it to the guy who built it in his garage, darn tootin I am. But I don't make a big deal out of it. If the guy built it him self and he is not a car builder, just as a hobby he built it, oh hell yeah, he has all my respect I do lean in that direction. But I am not going to make a big deal like I once would have.

I am crazy about show cars and love to look them over finding microscopic flaws just to show that there is no such thing as a perfect car. But I love looking deeper and deeper and deeper into them looking where I am not suppose to look, you know what I mean? No Randy, the passion it takes to make one of these near perfect cars, that is something I have train loads of respect for.

I was joking because so many people do have a problem with them, I don't get it, they are art just as all other cars at car show.

I know what you mean.... I don't see what's the big deal about this trailer queen cars..If someone want's to build a trailer queen so be it... The people that don't like it is because there car usually isn't as nice as the one and the trailer..LOL.. They they say..WELL I drive mine... OK.. It wasn't as nice before you started driving it... It's called JEALOUS..There is no other word for it.... This hobby has a lot of that now in it... Way more then I ever remember..

Very sad to see and hear this crap... I see EVER car as art.... That's because Most car BUILDERS are artist... I lost many friends because of what I do,,, But gained just as many as I lost if not more.. I live in my shop 24-7 and don't mess with anyone.... But it's funny to hear the things I hear...LOL

But they do say the higher you get on the ladder, The more people want to pull you down..I say have at it..

Build what you like.. I see drivers and trailer queens just like I see color's... Thank God we have many different types... Or life wouldn't be fun..

When I built this C-Cab.. I knew from the very first day it was different and I wanted a 60's style show rod... If I was rich,, You would be watching me build more show rods then anything.. IT WHAT I WANT TO DO... Them day are going away... I don't want to see it die off.. Like I said... Build what YOU like and don't worry about the next guy...

I have a bunch of WILD RODS locked up in my head that I just don't have the money to build... But if God let's me... I will build some more WILD SHOW RODS.. Bubble top cars..

If A guy show's up with a trailer-ed car... I want to see just how nice it is... I hear people crying and the back ground... OH !!! He don't drive it.... Big deal..Life goes on... Life is to short to worry about the stupid stuff.. Start looking at it as art...

I seen people make fun of some guy's that drive their cars, But trailer them to the coast... The funny part is.. These guy's making fun of them get caught in some bad weather there when it hit's and their cars are taken a beaten, While the trailer guy's are getting the last laugh..Yes they trailer them there,, but drive them all week while there.. But can pick them up at night,, Next day while everyone is trying to get sand off their cars,, They are riding...

Again..Build what you enjoy, Have fun,, And leave the next guy a long..
I laugh when someone tell's me, so and so was talking about you... I just look at them and laugh.. They ask why are you laughing ? I just look at them and say GOOD !!! That means they are leaving someone else alone....
