If it doesn't need to be explosion-proof, check with your local A/C companies and see if they have any old attic fans in their junk heap. Those are 48" and will move a bunch of air. I got mine for free, but it was a long time back...

It's not like a painting that just hangs there and does nothing. Think of it like a tool you will use every day during the summer. A 4' wall fan moves a lot of air. After a week you will wonder why you waited so long to get one.
Dont think for a minute that an $80 Home Depot 12'' fan will cut it. Go for the 48''.

Clueless is clueless !!!
Hey friends... I was getting ready to install some kind of exhaust fan in the back wall of My converted Barn/ Resto shop but had "sticker shock" when I went on line to order one and realized the one's I was looking at were in the 300.00 to 500.00 dollar range and I wasn't to sure how I was going to feel after realizing I had a 400.00 fan mounted on my shop wall ? Can someone tell me if they have any ideas on something more cost friendly ??? THANK YOU...
