|bigdog7373||I want to make a shift knob but i dont want wood. And bmw aren't threaded so no one makes one thats affordable. I want to try my luck at making one. Seems like a good project. Just trying to find a good material thats not going to cost a lot.|

Google dixie rubber ,they are in Greenville SC and have it.
I bought some that is 2" thick and 12" X 12" it was $90.00 bucks.

|Irelands child||A lot of commercial bathroom partitions, at least those made by a company called Bobrick are phenolic (my wife, until she retired was their HR manager - which means that I used to have access to their scrap ). You might find some at a salvage yard. Amazingly expensive stuff new and in big sheets.|

Where can i buy a block of phenolic? Is there a similar material that would be easier to find? Im just looking for a 4"x4" block. Any ideas? Thanks
