|RotorHead||I use the voodoo 60102 262 cam with a 3000 stall and 3.73 gears in an s-10 and I'm very happy with it. I chose the trick flow 62cc heads because of the price and I'm happy with those as well.|

Most Aftermarket Timing Gear/Chain sets have 3-setting positions on the Crank Gear, 4*Retarded, 0* and 4* Advance for the Valve Timing. The Cam Gear can also be adjusted with Bushings in smaller (*= Degree) increments.

depending on what heads you have already you may be able to keep those. I dont know if youre wanting to spend $1,000 or $6,000 but for 350hp a lot of different factory heads will work, including camel humps.
you'll need a good dual plane intake (a $70 swap meet item), good 1 5/8" long tube headers ($200-$400), a good 650-750cfm carb (rebuild a used one), a good flat top piston rebuild kit ($500), and a good cam with springs (often included in a good rebuild kit). Machine work costs can vary but you could have over 350hp for less than a new set of nice aftermarket heads.
350hp is NOT a hard target to hit.
BTW, I see you have headers... All headers are NOT created equal, some are great and some belong in the scrap pile.

The heads you posted are a little overkill for your project but will work. If you go that route you'll probably need a higher stall though, maybe a 2500 or a little more. With those heads, a good intake and headers, a decent carb and a cam with 220ish duration and .500"ish lift you'll probably be closer to 450hp than 350hp. If you stick with a stock intake you can probably knock it down to 370ish hp.
If you really only want 350hp then you can use a pair of heads out of the junk yard, maybe even the ones you have.

Well, being that you said stock gen 1 w/76 cc heads I'm going to assume you want to save some coin. I'm also assuming a TH350 trans w/stock converter and stock rear gears.
A decent rebuild of a 350 with a hydraulic flat tappet Comp Cams 260HE cam, 0.030 over flat top hyper pistons w/2 valve relief(5cc), bored/decked block w/pistons at zero deck, 0.039" gasket, heads w/1.94/1.50 valves w/pocket porting, and Z28 type springs(assuming thats what you have),(should yield about 9.1:1 static comp. ratio, 7.75:1 dynamic CR)(ok for 87 octane gas), a performer type dual plane intake, 600cfm vac secondary Holley, HEI type distributor and pretty much stock everything else should make for over 300 trouble free horse power, good truck low end torque and throttle response and not break the bank.IMHO
PS I have a 260 cam in a 350 and it runs great, 1st is almost a waste of gas as it spins so much with a 3.73 rear end.

When I was in Phoenix and had my other computer there, I used to do quite a few dynosim combinations for some of the fellows on here. One of the nicest liittle 350 builds used #12407 RHS bare heads with valves, seals, springs, retainers and locks in a kit, all from Competition Products. The intake runners are 170cc. Use the 1.94"/1.50" valves in a street motor.
I'm thinkin' the heads complete are around $700.00 or a little more. You can't rebuild your junk heads for that.
355 Gen I Chevy street motor, 453 HP, 475 ft-lbs torque.
Block: '68-'86 Chevy 350 Gen I bored +0.030".
Crank: Stock 350, 3.48" stroke, 2.450" main journal diameter.
Rods: Stock 350 5.7". Recommend ARP bolts, re-size big end.
Pistons: Keith Black hypereutectic, part #KB193, 12cc D-cup, 5/64,5/64,3/16 rings. 1.561" compression height. Gap top ring 0.026", second ring 0.018".
Heads: RHS Pro Torquer Vortec 170-64, 2.02" intake, 1.60" exhaust. These heads will accept either conventional or Vortec type intake manifolds. They are drilled and tapped for both types.
Intake manifold: Dual-plane, high-rise such as the Edelbrock RPM, Weiand Stealth or Professional Products Typhoon.
Carburetor: Vacuum secondaries 750 CFM.
Headers: 1 3/4" primaries, long-tube, equal-length. Install "X" pipe between collectors and mufflers. Run 2 1/2" pipe to the rear through mufflers of your choice.
Camshaft: CompCams flat tappet hydraulic 260H: , installed straight up.
Rocker Arms: 1.6 ratio on both intake and exhaust.
Static Compression Ratio: 9.6:1
Dynamic Compression Ratio: 8.4:1
Squish: 0.035" to 0.045". Zero piston deck height with 0.035" to 0.045" head gasket or 0.010" to 0.020" piston deck height with Victor Reinz #5746 head gasket that compresses to 0.025".

Stock converter and stock rear gear will work, but would be more fun with a converter that stalls at 2000 to 2200 rpm's and a 3.73 gear. The most out-of-whack spec on this build is the fact that RHS flows their heads on a 4.200" pipe. The resulting flow numbers bear little resemblance to real-life flow on a 4.030" cylinder bore. If you want closer to real, multiply these hp/torque figures by 0.95.
If I were going to build this motor today, I'd use a Howards hydraulic roller cam with about the same cam timing events.

|bbowerman||For the cam I would say a comp cams high energy 268 it has RPM range of 1500-5500, compression is heads but u said you didn't want to change them so that's out of the question. For the carburetor edelbrock 750 CFM or holley double pumper, there are many good intakes for these carbs if u want a list just ask.|
