|78 monte||Summit makes a rebuild kit for 327 rated 11.8:1w/ 64cc heads.That should make you around 9.8-10:1. I wouldn't can the 327 in my oppinion they rev twice as fast as a 350.As far as a cam just match it to everything you've got intake, carb cfm,heads,converter stall,valves,gears,etc...|

327 rebuild help. SUGGESTIONS PLEASE
Ive been going nuts trying to match the right parts for my rebuild.
I have a 67 impala that has a 327 small journal mains in it. I was going to
have it bored .030 over and rebuild it with a descent sized cam(any suggestions) and 10.1
forged flat-tops,headers,4.10 rear end gear, and a powerglide tranny. The problem is I brought my heads into my machine man
and a problem came up. I have a set of 1.94 76 cc heads with hardened seats
that were rated one of the top ten stock heads for chevy sb. But having the
small journal 327 im loosing compression, plus loosing compression with the 76cc heads. Is there any pistons i can run to get a true 10.1 ratio?
Or should I opt for spending my money on a 350 or 400? I would like to keep my 327 ,anyone have any comments on a 327 please let me know.I intend it for an everyday driver but plan on running it on the drag strip once or twice. I also know a guy selling a sb 400 with dart heads,eagle crank and rods, for a thousand but i dont want to end up with something that might need rebuilt. Any suggestions on what to do with this 327?
