ericnova72 If you intend to do frequent oil changes(2000 miles or less) so as to keep built-up wear particles in the oil to a minimum, there is no problem using a race filter. They just aren't intended to use for 10,000 miles change intervals.

The race filter doesn't filter as fine a particles out, as a race engine theory is full volume of slightly dirty oil is better than too little oil because of a restrictive filter.

Read the box this filter comes in and then you be the judge, it's your motor.

* "Not intended for street use."

* "Warning: Wix racing filters are designed for racing purposes only, and if used on street-driven vehicles, pre-mature engine wear is possible."

* "New vehicle and equipment warranties are void when this product is used in competitive racing or on modified high-performance engines."
