DanTwoLakes You should also put down any sound deadener material you plan on using and put down some kind of padding, whether it is jute or polyfoam. You can then use the padding as a pattern to cut your carpet about 3" bigger than your padding which will make your carpet more manageable. After that, trim it down to size and put the truck back together.

OneMoreTime I would pull the seat out..remove the boot around the shifter (floor shifter) and the door sill plate as well as anything else that may be attached to the floor..then lay the carpet in and work it around until it lays down nice and then re-install the seat and anything else that may have been removed..

can some give me some pointer on how to install the carpet in a 1949 chevy pickup.
