Besides a bit of air movement will pick up dust/overspray off of plastic and blow it onto your fresh paint job. If you want to protect floor then put down some cheap masking paper
Use a roofing tar paper, its cheap too .Sweep and wash the floor first ,lay down the paper duct tape the wall plastic to the tar paper floor and all the seams ..You'll get the best results WITHOUT a wet floor...I know its hard to believe but its true I sprayed on wet floors for years...wet it down sweep it while its wet then let it dry...
This sounds crazy but mix a gallon of water and a bottle of elmers glue in a pump sprayer and spray your walls and floor. it'll hold down the dust and is way cheaper than 65.00 gallon booth coating.

Most of your dust and dirt will come from the car itself I cant express how important it is to blow out every nook and crany, under the hood ,trunk, open the doors and blow the back side of the fenders ,moldings etc...blow the car off THEN bring it in the booth...
One other little tip for a DIY booth is about the filters ,if your using furness, filters go to a hobby/crafts store and find some cheap sray glue that stays tacky and spray some on the booth side of the filters....what a difference...
last paint booth I wired, the tech's from the company who made it came in and sprayed a flexible coating on the walls and floor. I asked them what it was but can't remember the name off hand. (some of the guys that paint for a living around here might know)
It looked like white latex paint. It peeled off really easy. They said you can get x number of paintjobs and then you peel and re-spray.
Thats called booth coating all the dirt and overspray sticks to IT and makes prepping, cleaning and repainting the booth unnessary just peel and reapply and the booth looks like brand new again and keeps the down time at a minimum..not nessarry with a DIY booth
