|HotRodS10||Be very generous with that cam lube and like Tom said, soak the lifters overnight in oil. Make sure you use new lifter...dont use old lifters with a new cam or vise versa. Good luck..HRS10|

|Tom||When you take out the cam, if you are not replacing the cam berings be careful of them. What I do is get 3 long 1/4-20 bolts (like the long q-jet bolts)screw them int the cam and use them like a handle,go slow,out and in,use a good cam lube. soak the new lifters overnight in oil so they are filled when you put them in,arrange them in a can so they are upright then pour the oil over them. get a thrust bering,keeps the cam from walking back and forth.they also make a bolt lock for the cam bolts.use new time set, I like cloyes, the 20 dollar set is good...good luck|

|Slyfox||Go get a book by HP books called How to Hot Rod a Small Block. It don't have everything in it but a lot of the information is very helpful|

Cam removal,pull distributor,intake,loosen rocker arms to remove the pushrods,then remove the lifters,remove water pump,pulleys,harmonic balencer,timing cover you'll have to loosen your oil pan bolts to get the timing cover off.remove timing gear then put you a long bolt into your cam where your timing gear bolts to just something to hold onto while pulling cam out. are you doing a full tear down? If you are then pull the heads then flip it over and remove pistons,and crank Make sure your rod caps are numberd for that cylinder unless your going to have them reconditioned then it wont matter but I like to put them back in the same hole just me.then make sure the main caps are marked, these MUST go back where they came off.put some rubber hose on the rod bolts when knocking the pistons out to keep from knicking your crank,use wood handle to tap pistons out good luck hope I did'nt for get any thing. when you need help just ask somebody will answer(wrenchturner)

INPUT I NEED INPUT PLEASE
OK, IM ABOUT TO PULL OUT MY 350 AND TEAR IT APART. ITS BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE IVE DONE THIS AND THE LAST TIME I HAD MY FATHER BY MY SIDE, AND SINCE WE LIVE IN DIFFERENT CITIES HE IS NOT HERE. I REMEMBER ALOT BUT I THINK IVE FORGOTTEN MORE THEN I KNOW. IM KINDA NERVOUS ABOUT THE CAM, IT SOUNDS SIMPLE PULL IT OUT AND STICK THE NEW ONE IN. SOUNDS TO EASY, BUT IS IT? PLEASE SOMEONE GIVE ME SOME INPUT, WHAT DO I NEED TO LOOK FOR, WHAT DO I NEED TO MAKE SURE I DO. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HEP ME!!!!!
