mmerlinn The 2A3-D-1 is the date of assembly.

No idea what the specifics of the B variation are, so can't tell you. You may have a hard time finding anyone that can answer that question as even the engineers that designed it probably could not tell you even if they were still alive.

All I can tell you for sure is that a T10B is different than a T10T and is different than any other variation.

T-10 B-1

Thank you for the reply and the help.

Can you be more specific for me? For eample, what tells you it is a 1962 trans? Is it the "2" in the Tag 2A3-D-1?? What do the other numbers on the tag mean?? The "B" must signify something? or it would be a "D" or an "F" or something else?? I know it means a variation of the T10, but what is that variation??

Thank you very much for your help and patience. Bill

mmerlinn It is a 1962 T10B transmission.

The B only signifies that it is a T10B transmission as opposed to any other variation of the T10.

Help to ID a Borg Warner Trans

Can anyone help me identify the following Ford Borg Warner 4 speed trans? I believe it is from a late 1961 or early 1962 Ford Galaxie bu I would like to know what the "B" signifies???

Thr trans numbers are T-10 B-1 The tail housing is T10B-7

There is an attached tag on trans housing that reads 2A3-D-1

If anyone can interpret these codes for me I would really appreciate it.

Thanks, Bill
