So tuesday night I bought a 71 C20 for $800!!!

Its a little rought around the edges but if you look passed all the dirt and crud lol its a great deal!

Its a 3/4ton 8 lug wood bed 350/350 combo with a dana 60 rear.

The kid didnt know much about the truck at all he bolted a eddy carb onto a qjet intake without the spacer and coundt figure out the problem and lost intrest in the truck.

It was sitting for about 2 years with a low milage engine and trans. the truck needs a lot of help but nothing serious is wrong with the truck at all. the worst issue is the driver rocker needs to be replaced and the wood bed is rotted.

Theres quite a few little things that it needs but nothing thats costly or hard to do.

So here are some pics of the truck...

 in high school i often drove my dads p-up
it was a 69 c20 396 - good times and lots of memories
when the 396 was getting worn out, we bought a wrecked 72 c20 and swapped out the fresh 402, and i got the old 396 to rebuild for a chevelle
and that my freind, is how a boy gets started on a big block man hood :p

I'd say you did OK for the price. Can't find anything but a rusted hulk up here for around that money.

What's that wire-wound resistor on the driver's side inner fender for? Close to the unused relay. Aftermarket trailer stuff?

It is a resistor and it is for trailer power. This truck when it was build was top notch for its day apparently. It has dual battery set-up all the wiring for trailers the wood bed the tool box in the side of the bed. Has gauges in the dash not idiot lights. Power lock Dana 60. And large disc brakes.

I feel I got a killer good deal on this truck I have spare eddy intake manifold to bolt on so I do t need to use a spacer for the qjet manifold. My dad is very excited to rebuild the wood bed with me. And with a little tlc and a few hundred bucks this truck will be much cleaner then the above pics!

Looking forward to some pics once you clean it up. I'd be tempted to call it Clyde 'cause it's a bit of a Clydesdale.

When I was a kid my friend had a 3-spd manual 1/2 ton like that, it was tons of fun. He put a Hurst floor shifter on it and a Sun tach, man we were cruising!
