stallion0606 disassembled engine. did a leak down test, not good. afterwards found that the valves looked like they tried to go through the heads, can these be repaired

Ayuh,... Do a compression test, 'n leak-down test...

Sounds like she's pretty Beat though...

stefanP Overheated engine is never good sign.Look at your spark plugs.Also take a compression test.On the other hand,"A engine that smokes is well lubricated!"

stallion0606 was rebuilt in 2004. ran it in mudd boggs and ran hard till 2008 when it ran hot and started smoking afterwards

DoubleVision Likely at highway speeds you simply can`t see it. This could be valve seals, valve guides or a leak at the intake gaskets. Worse case scenario would be rings.

355 sbc smokes in town but not at highway speeds
