Look real close to see the hint of haveing the trim strips. Vinal tops used them. Could have rust repair. May be they have a trim or body tag saying it.

Like the Man says,MONEY TALKS,AND BULL ***** WALKS.I think the sport did come out with a vinal top.Best way to tell is to check the mouldings along the roof and along the upper qaurters.Most hardtops had no moldings. Torinos came with a 9" rear,with a higher rear such as a 2.73 for full eco/.
You have no race car here.Unless it was a Starkey and Hutch knockoff,this is a low compression motor,and unless you can walk the walk,enjoy what you have and just cruise it.
