Finishing up my must ll front end my tie rod seems to go up in my lower arm and I still have about 1/2, or about 3/4 inch before it touches my rubber boot. I have enough room for my cotter pin. Would this be o.k. Or should I try and impact my nut down?, thanks, Dana

i'm thinking the bevel of the male/female are not the same angles... meaning putting a 20° male into a 15° female fitting. it wouldn't seat... thinking out loud on this one..
That sounds like what you may be running into. You might first want to check the taper on the hole and the taper on the stud to make sure that they match.

What changes did you make with the tie rod ends and spindles if any? I can measure the stud on one of my stock MII tie rod ends as far as length goes it that helps along with measuring the thickness of the stock I in the MII spindle. Pm or email me if that would help.

Tie rod

Sounds like your both right, wrong taper to match. It is the IFS kit (stage 1) from fat man. I do have plenty of room for installing my cotter( with small spacer to make it real nice fit) BUT would this be a good idea? I've thru all shipping pkg's away so don' want to send back. Also thinking about reaming the hole a little bit?Advise, thanks again, Dana

Tie rod

Found out today my front tie rod is designed this way w/approx 3/4 in away from the boot. This keeps the steering from getting to far out of wack, better steering for the customer. (I guess I should read all instructions first) Thanks for the help, Dana
