Mustang II Power Steering Flow Valve for GM Pump, 2 GPM - Speedway Motors, America's Oldest Speed Shop
|Today 09:22 AM|
|Leakie||That does not sound too far off. GM pumps can go up to 1500 psi but a Mustang rack can only handle 600-800 psi. Maybe just the refreshing that you did to the front end will help your problem.|

The rack is from Art Morrison, I believe it's an AGR brand, but I am not sure what it's based on.
Morrison said it should be 1200 psi max

|Leakie||Borgensen makes a reducer for ps pump if it is GM pump. Do you have a Mustang rack or a T-bird. The T-bird rack can handle the extra pressure the Mustang can't.|

My next project is to sort out the steering on this 38
It's pretty twitchy at freeway speeds.
I think the new balljoints and adjusted toe will help.
(I will take it to get aligned soon)
But I also want to go through the p/s pump to see if I can reduce the pressure.
(I just need to figure out what it's off of.

I rinsed out my rad after the CLR soak, and it looked better.
But not good enough.
I only used one bottle in it the the first time, so now I have 3 bottles in it.
I think it was too diluted to do much before.
Thanks for the radiator info guys.
I have been looking at the flex-a-lite rads.
(They are a local outfit and I used to know a few people that work there)
but man, they sure are a lot of money.

Looks like you found someone to help, it's on! You will be cruisin' before you know it!
I took mine out for a ride today. I have a few things that need to be done yet but it's drivable!

Hopefully you will be able to clean it out. Make sure to use antifreeze made for aluminum rads.

i think thats what i have in the 38 now, its core is epoxied to the tanks, not welded.

|Leakie||Base price is about 400, if you want any extras like an internal oil cooler figure closer to 500.|
