Today after the football game, I switched out the daughters snow tires.
Also, my son bought a used strut tower brace that ties the 2 sides together for his new 240sx.
after he sanded it, I ran it across the polisher.
Now we wait for the mounting brackets to get back from the powder coating shop (along with his wheels)

|mud.man.rj||Thanks for the offer on parts, it has the stainless fuel rail. It is a strange place when you have no idea it may be there but makes sense with the fitment of a v8 into the chassis, tight for sure. Have the car traded later this week, just waiting for the plenum boot to the t body, has a big crack in the bottom of it so bad vacumn leak. Traded my 86 Monte big blk car and Caddy for a 2007 Pontiac G5 car car the daughter, an 82 S10 1/4 mile v8 truck and an 86 short box Chevy 4wd w a small blk, 4spd manul w 6" lift on 35's. Good eal all around, like to have a truck so will have 2, one for the street and one offroad. Bought momma a low km Escape so she has 4wd, but have to buy the other twin daughter a newer car now too, oh well in time. All fun in hotrodding.|

Does your engine have the stainless steel fuel rail or the plastic one? plastic ones were recalled a long time ago but many were not changed. I have spares if you need a stainless one of those also
seems like a weird place for the starter, but if you think about it it's well protected from both exhaust heat and water etc. very dependable actually.

Lots of cars put the starter up & out of the way under the intake
V 6 & V8 both. In fact any V-configuration engine in make makes & models of cars (V6,8,10,12, 16 etc)
For long-term life & reliability (of the starter) it's a lot nicer place than down underneath, where it is exposed to road splash, etc
Not 100% sure, but I seem to recall reading that Mercedes puts it there, ditto BMW, Lexus, Infiniti and others like Ferrari, Maserati. etc. (I know that my V8 Lexus has it there.)

|Newmster||Under the intake. Wow. That's crazy.|
|Yesterday 12:19 PM|
Changed the starter on my wife's Caddy Northstar engine, under the intake, great place but not actually that bad to do, just like anything first time, go slow and think about the reverse steps.
