Hello, I went out and measured my truck and the front was 51" wheel to wheel (inside tire). Soooo I guess I was wrong on the 56" width as being ok. The FORD EXPLORER 8.8-INCH rear axel I got is 591/2 wide and as I now remember the original was 60". Mine out of a 98 and has track lock and disk brakes. I hope this helps???

I put a 89 explorer rear end in my F1. see my pics at my site. 56" from tire to tire sounds about right.

Any one know what the track width is on a 48-52 ford f-1? I've located a stock mustang 2 front and rear and it looks like they are about 56" wheel to wheel.
