hobby28 So does that mean i am aligning it wrong on the timing set? Do you install the crank gear at r2 and line the marks up at 0?

stich626 remember the crank goes 720 degrees for every 360 cam degrees.

Cloyes 9 key Timing Set

I Degreed the cam and it came in at a 100 degree intake centerline and the cam card calls for a 102. So i retarded the timing set 2 degrees, but when i checked it again it came in at 104. I placed the crank gear on the r2 keyway and lined the cam gear up with the r2 on the outer markings of the crank gear. Am I doing something wrong with the timing set?
