what's a bellcrank?

Thanks for the reply about the rod and bellcrank. I must have those in my boxes of stuff off the car. What does a "bellcrank" look like? It's tough gettin' old and forgettin' stuff!

enjenjo Stock it did not have a front cable. There was a rod from the handle to a belcrank on the frame. The belcrank almost always interferes with a V8 engine and are removed.

48 Chevy SD factory parking brake

I am considering using the factory parking brake lever under the dash of my 48 Chevy Sedan Delivery street rod project instead of a floor mount. I have a Muncie 4-speed and am thinking about making a console so a floor mount handle would be in the way. The factory handle is in great shape (once I clean it up and paint it) but I don't recall how the cables ran from the stock handle. I have a GM 10-bolt rear end.

Does anyone have a diagram or photos or explanation of how the cable would run? Advice is always welcome too! See my journal to see how the car is coming.

Thank you.
