123pugsy I started putting in stakes today for the new footings.
The whole pit is not cleared yet but it feels good to move forward slightly after two major delays.

MARTINSR Remember that Crosley motor I told you about a while ago with the interesting story of the dude from eBay delivering it? Well my brother picked it up today and he went over it finding all kinds of damage that I hadn't seen. Like the intake where the guy broke the bolts off in the intake and pried the carbs apart breaking them.

But while my brother is looking at it it struck him how clean it was, inside, not one spec of corrosion in the water jackets, guys the friggin thing is NOS! The motor is NOS from around 1953, it was a perfect, complete to generator and starter NOS motor, never having been ran! And that jerk screwed it all up, he even broke a fin off the valve cover. But what a shame, luckily the internals are untouched. But he has to pull it apart over fear that the jerk poured something inside or something, who knows.

What a shame!

MARTINSR While Nick was out getting a burger with a friend I spent a couple minutes and straightened up the grill on the Falcon. He was concerned with it and looking for a new one and I spent just a few minutes and pushed and pulled (it's aluminum and bends very easy) and removed the head light rings to bend it up to meet them and even hammered and dollied out a dent. It's not perfect but a thousand times better.
Yeah I should have done it with him but there are plenty other things to learn on. He is concerned with the mouldings, yeah Nick, we can fix those.

MARTINSR Didn't get anything done but a great meal out with my son. This is a cute little town near us and I parked Marge in the special high performance car parking lot.

But the hardest one is my childhood home that I grew up in, built in 1966 disappear. I couldn't watch this one, I went into it just before it was taken down to build about 30 houses on the little property it was on. I got a few treasures like light switch covers and stuff that I put in my house that I am in right now. I got the front door off my Grand Fathers house that was right behind this one in the photo. I really need to get that up on my home darn it. But really, I have something about old houses, I have seen so many destroyed in his town so that condos or a hundreds houses can be stuffed onto the property (or 500 on the farm) I can't stand seeing one torn down. It's such a waste to me, it tears my heart out.

There are not thousands of houses within this photo, it's sickening. As far as you can see and further, to the right it was all fields, to the left, all fields, all the way to the bay, farms. It's all covered in houses now. so sad.

Brian
I agree but in my case, the house is truly a piece of junk.
It's also out of place. I live in a heritage zone and my new house will blend into the neighborhood nicely.

I wouldn't want to see any of the older houses in my hood destroyed. They really look nice.
