hey guys, my old man has a old polished turd in his f350, the 7.3 powerstroke... what would be the safest boost setting for his turbo to go up too, and give me an estimate on how slow this junk will be feel free to poke fun at his truck lol although it has lasted 400xxx miles lol
Your "old man" as you so disrespectfully put it has one of the best engines developed for Ford trucks....hence the 400 thousand miles. The later 6.0's were problematic until updates were made. My '02 Powerstroke runs like a charm and pulls boats, horse trailers with no problem. If you think it's a turd then why would you demean yourself to do anything with it?

If I could have found a decent 7.3, I wouldn't be owning a gas guzzler V10 F350 though it is totally reliable. Go over to the Ford Truck Enthusiasts site and try that kind of dumb statement on them. Here's where to start
My uncle has a 6.0l and yes it had to have all the updates but it is a good motor since then lots of power etc... but I had a 2002 7.3 4x4 and it had over 670,000 Kms on it when I sold it and it is still running strong to date. My friend baught it off me and he has owned it for 3 years now. He had one problem about 5 months after i sold it and it was the injector pump he changed it out and runs like a dream
absolutely nothing wrong with the 7.3. It does what it was designed to do and it does it extremely well. If you want to run it like a gas job, go buy a gas powered truck.
