I think I will end up doing that dinger, thanks.
We live in an unfortunate time when it isn't futuristic enough to get this done in your garage but it isn't old-timey enough to find someone to bribe. Rats!

|dinger||The only thing I can think of is a CHP, the kind that carries the scales for weighing trucks. They also do inspections, give your local office a call.|

Any way to get a California weighmaster certificate without driving to the scales?
Are there any services that will come to my garage and put balances under my truck's four wheels and give me a weight slip?
I think I already know the answer, but I figured I would ask anyway.
The CA DMV wants a weight certificate to register my '49. The problem is that it is far from complete and they said they would only give me 2 months of temporary registration. I can't non-op it because it doesn't even have a title until I weigh it.
I have the truck shoehorned into my garage at the bottom of a steep curving driveway, so towing it out and back is very far from ideal -- probably will end up doing it though.
Totally regretting being too much of a introvert to have made friends with a "cash only" weighmaster.
