5window Thanks. So, is that the orangish wire on the right hand clip that's probably 10-12Ga?

alittle1 The red wire should go to a source that will supply power to the choke when the key is in the 'on' position only. The pink wire from the IGN switch at the base of the steering column is usually a good source, as it has a full 12 volts.

The pink wire will go to the + terminal on the HEI distributor. The brown tach wire is not a good source. Some people have even used the green wire to the TEMP sending unit. I like the big fat 12 gauge wire to the HEI, that sometimes looks orange because of age.

carsavvycook Are you asking about the black wire from your choke? It is common to mount it to the top of the carb, or to a nut on the carb base.

Help with SBC Distributor wire?

Ok, I am sure this is simple, but I don't know. Trying to replace a wire from my distributor to the carb, the wire just fell out of the distributor connections! So, please help me figure out where it went. I "think" maybe from the left/front connector, not the one with the larger orange wire, but...? Thanks in advance.
