Too Many Projects Long way to go when it comes back from paint. It's going out as a skeleton like it sits. Paint is only the firewall forward. I still need to install a front disc conversion and all new suspension when it comes back. Not certain if we (I) will be completely re-assembling. It needs a LOT of other restoration and exterior paint once I'm done. The owner is doing that, so, really, no sense to put it all back together for him to take it apart again, but who knows at this point.

You knocked that out quick! The customer sure got his monies worth for sure!

Too Many Projects More Mustang Madness
I had to make a repair patch for the inner frame rail out 3" square tubing.



I added the 3 holes that don't really do anything, but it looks more like a real rail this way.





All prepped and clamped in place.





I drilled 13 holes thru the original rail to plug weld thru to the patch.



Welded the bottom seam.



Prepped the outer rail.





Needed to hammer form the 2 missing features on the replacement rail.





Placed and welded the left strut rod bracket on.





Finished the plug for the old aftermarket A/C hoses.





And for the LAST welding needed on this car, I had to straighten out the metal that was punched out for a drain tube and weld it shut.

Need to add 2" Styrofoam to top of attic hatch.
Of course the trap primer had to fail when he was there.
Two showers and back deck are not done yet but he will keep the permit open.

John long My friend Melvin gave me a 505 Saginaw steering gear for Precious today. I just need to clean it up. I also installed the sway bar and ordered a set of hubs and rotors.

I know. It's not a lot but proof I got my five minutes in.

MARTINSR I got out there for my five minutes and media blasted the inside of the bottom of the cowl and all it did was found more work.

HOLY COW! That piece looks too nice and shiny to cover with powder coat. That's a work of art that needs to be shown off.

Rip VW I finally got out to the shop today. First day in a while. "The War Dept", My personal nurse grudgingly allowed me to spend some time in the shop today now that all the other self induced shop injuries have all healed nicely. ha ha

I worked this tail panel issue and decided the best thing to do to get it done was to disassemble the frame work and jig it up and finish weld it all jigged and clamped at once. So it is all apart and tomorrow I am going to jig and clamp it all straight. Should have done that the first time last year.. Oh well sometimes we learn the hard way.

tech69 metal mart is one of my weekend spots but their prices went up. Before you'd have sheets sitting on a rack with the price on it. Now they have to cut you one and the price runs up. Blue Collar in South Sac is a very good source and is open on the weekend. It's my spot for aluminum sheet and they have a fantastic bolt collection. They have all kinds of random sizes in scrap and they have good scrap aluminum. Their prices are much better than Metal Mart, but I like the people at Metal Mart.

I just googled the places that are open on the weekend. Both have 18G and aluminum. They are out there. Keep searching. If you lived right down the block I'd just give some to you.
