I was wondering if anyone can help me out Im attempting to remove the friont wheel hub assemble and was wondering If I had to take out the entire spindle assembly and press the bearing hub out or I can hammer the hub out of the spindle while on the car?
Remove rhe entire assembly. Take it to a qualified machine shop. The hub is pressed out, retainer rings removed, then the bearing is pressed out.
New bearing is pressed in, then snap rings, then hub is pressed to spec. I get $45.00 and work for every penny. Michigan cars rust up solid..Good luck. Many times the entire assembly must be replaced if run for too long with bearing noise..
Add to Bobs post is get a quality name brand bearing like a National or a Timkin or you will be doing it again soon. I am in Ma, also a rust area and I have done some that I thought the press was going to break before the bearing released.
$45 is a steal to press one out and in. We have done a few carry ins and we get $75

Damn! Didnt figure this would cost so much to press out. Im used to getting bearings pressed out for $10-$15 I'll see how much they'll charge. Im picking up the bearing and hub assembly tomorrow .
