just picked up a .52 chev 3/4 ton dump truck... i am thinking i would like to remove the wood constructed box and put a regular pick-up truck bed on it, still want to be able to use the dump mech...any thoughts and any ideas for places to look for the bed? thanks for any help you can give... will need misc. small parts for the truck also... all in all the truck is in very nice condition...

truck bed

is the bed area longer on the dump box frame than a regular pick-up frame? my truck is a 3/4 ton, is there a differance betweewn thev 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton as far as bed size and what years would work/fit? maybe '48 through '52 +/- ? thanks for any help... first project like this for me...can you tell?

The 3/4 ton had about an 8 inch longer wheel base. So the running boards, running board aprons, and of course the bed. Behind the wheel the bed is the same, as are the fenders. If you google these trucks you will see that some have another bed pocket in front of the fenders, those are the 3/4 ton.

The beds are exactly the same from 49-53 and the mid year 47-48 will be the same outside of a hole for the fuel filler on the right side above the running board.

If you are trying to upload them thru the "manage attachments" button when you post they are likely simply too big. That is the only cause of failure I have found.
