I drilled an 1/8" hole in each end of the piece of fuel line, I fed the wires through it, placed it in the jam then the door. Then I ran wire ties thru the holes that I had drilled. Now both ends will not come back out and it just slides back and forth.
I am not putting bear claw latches in, you must have read a message that was left on my profile page by someone else.

I see from your profile post that your going to install bear claw latches. I did it on mine and gotta tell you, it wasn't a simple job. Had to cut the doors up pretty good to get the latches where they needed to be. I actually had the latches welded in and had to cut them back out to re-position. Striker in B pillar was no picnic as well
Got a lot of pictures of the process if needed.

As for the radio "INFOTAINMENT" system that I'm installing in my 39. I'm installing a Pioneer AVIC-8000 NEX In-Dash Navigation AV Receiver. AVIC-8000NEX - In-Dash Navigation AV Receiver with 7” WVGA Capacitive Touchscreen Display | Pioneer Electronics USA
Building a box for a Kenwood 8" sub with Excelon amp. Focal Performance 165AS component speaker system with Audison voce series amplifier in the front. 2 I'll be able to integrate my back-up camera into the NEX display also.
This big car is getting a lot smaller the more I add.

i got some work done to the speedo today.cleaned the cup, light sanding removed any surface rust, etch primed it and let it dry.straightened the bezel by cutting the right size hole from a piect of mdf, dropped the dezel in and gently tapped down the bumps with the back of a punch.
painted the cup inside n out with an off white gloss.later when it was dry i gave it a trial run, happy out with itoffered it into the dash even happier now.hopefull of getting new windows to light the interior
soon. the third gauge is rebuilt and stashed away . wont be fitted until last in case of damage to the line and probe

New to the forum and just found this thread. I have recently come by a '39 Chevy truck and am noticing a lot of interesting posts on this thread that pertain to my project so hope you don't mind someone with a "newer" truck jumping in occasionally. As I said, I picked up an internet "deal" that had all the parts I wanted but was very poorly put together to the point of being dangerous to drive, so I am basically doing an un-intended ground up rebuild.
All in all still love the truck and am having fun getting to know it from one end to the other so it has been very helpful to see how others are solving problems as I discover them. (ie. I know that the front fender should have more than two attachment points!)
Also added a Mustang II style front suspension and am curious... Would there be any interest in the old leaf spring style steering and suspension, or is it pretty much just junk? Hate to throw away 76 year old parts but have no place to keep them and will never have a use for them myself.

Door wire loom
Could you please post pictures of your door wire loom? Since our cars didn't have them from stock, I'm not sure what type to retrofit.
