|my87Z||Magnaflow are good mufflers but I absolutely refuse to pay that much for a muffler simply because if it's name. I could understand them costing that much if they were far and above the greatest flowing mufflers. But when you have other companies (namely dynomax) who has mufflers that flow just as well and sound great but cost 1/3 to 1/2 the price of magnaflow, that convinces me that you are simply paying for the name.|

Thrush Magnum glasspacks use a perforated inner tube, not the louvered fiberglass mess that Cherry Bombs use.. There design also produces a much mellower tone. When I refer to Glasspacks, I'm not even thinking of the Cherry Bombs, only Magnums cause there the only Glasspack I use

acutally the thrush glass packs flow very well, but have that popping/cracking sound and drone that people get annoyed by.

^^^^^^ i agree
flowmaster dont flow very well, they should change their name. and for their cost you are simply paying for the name.
i prefer dynomax products, they do tons of air flow research
thrush is made by dynomax and i recently put these mufflers on my truck, they sound great, and i also have dynomax racing bullets on my car, it's bit loud but it's a street/strip car that i wanted that way.
these mufflers sound great, are a little louder than the flowmaster 40's but yet flow a ton better, in the description they say that they quiet down as cruising speeds but i will say from experiance that you can certainly still hear them at cruising speed, it's not obnoxious but still has good sound. as far as dynomax goes they are the next loudest behind glass packs, but yet dont have the popping and cracking that comes with glass packs.
you can't beat that price either!

|Jim Rockford||Loud doesn't equal power, flows suck and there is almost no good flowing glasspack. Dynomax ultraflow or a magnaflow muffler would really sound good and still be able to hear yourself think going down the road and not drone the fillings out of your teeth. check You tube for different muffler sounds.|

|matt167||IMO, flowmasters sound like a tin can echoing... a GOOD glass pack is what I prefer, or a Turbo muffler depending on what it is.. Ither 1 will produce the actual engine sound at a legal ( usually ) sound level|

Muffler recommendation for '66 impala
Hi I have a '66 impala with a stock 350 sbc, and headers, dual exhaust and wanted to know what kind of mufflers i should use. I want the exhaust to be fairly loud, was thinking flowmaster super 40's, or should i go to a bottle type? thanks.
