Irelands child There is a caveat to straightening an 'I' beam axle. An original Ford, and if it's a minor bend or twist, very little problem straightening - cold bending is the normal way to make caster and camber changes and even up through the early '80s on Ford pick up trucks . If it's an after market, care should be taken as many are cast rather then the original's forged with several to my knowledge failing though often via an unusual circumstance such as an off road excursion or accident

bent axle

That axle would be real easy for any shop that does truck work.Do Not heat the axle,it must be pressed cold. I have a Model A axle in my T-bucket.It was bent when I bought it, about 15 minutes in the press it was as good as new.I have been playing with this stuff for 50 years, and I personally , know of only one axle breaking,on a 39 chevy (under questionable circumstances).

bent front end ???

i'll assume its a drop axle type... IMO i'd trash it.. i don't believe in just blowing money but i just don't trust a front end that 70 yrs old and it's already bent.. i had a early 30's on my bucket and it lasted a wk before i sold it for a aftermkt new one...
sorry i just don't trust an old front end.. really bad things happen is they break... really bad things... i'm sure its not what u wanted to hear, but they just scare the heck out of me...
