Model A's are Henry's newfangled models for '28. Tin Lizzies are 1927 and older.

|supercab78||Update for those who are doing a search on this topic. : It fits quit nicely in a 1930-1931 Ford model A. Some 28-29 may have a narrower hood. The turbo may be too close. I'll be doing some changes on the air filter this winter to make it look a little older. Sure is fun to drive.|

|supercab78||Update; I have a stock nonrunning 1931 Ford tudor. I'll be tearing it down and deciding on what to do for suspension first. At least a two year project.|

you can always fill the roof in yourself...read up or check out utube videos on how to fiberglass.. set up some 1/4" luan under roof opening.or on a sheet of plywood cover an area slightly larger than your roof fill, cover it with wax paper or seran wrap so it wont stick, then fiber glass over the covering and glass up a sheet..and fill it yourself..just a thought

|supercab78||evintho; thanks for some pics. Everyone else thanks for the post. Now I need to find a body. I went to look at a 1932 fiberglass vicky yesterday. It's a project that was started in the 80's and never finished. This body came without the roof filled (it had wood across the top like a steel car ) and doors hinges were not installed yet. If I go glass I'd like a filled roof.|

yup they do. i met a guy at a show who did it..in fact he told me his car has a later year(because of bigger brakes) Chevette front end that bolted right in with the rivet holes of the Model A aligning up with the bolt holes on the Chevette pc..

I saved these off the internet.
I'm doing the same thing except mine is going in a '27 T roadster. The motor is already built and powering my '89 Mustang ragtop........for now. At 350hp it should make the T really scoot!

Here's one we done on my son's old Ranger been a few years though, we took the turbo from a turbo coupe and added it to his engine done real good too,
It was a blast to drive when he would let me anyway.

That should be a real neat setup in the old tin Lizzy. Keep us up to speed on where you are at with it.
The intercooler is a real plus if you can squeeze it in there somewhere.

Cole; Some of the 2.3 turbo's were run without inner coolers. They were limited to 8 PSI boost I think. I already have a complete driveline. I'm looking put it in a Model A or B. I see that the 28-29's are a little narrower them 30-31's. But the 28-29's seem to be easier to find and cheaper. I think I need about 26 inches width because of the turbo.
latech; I put one in a 84 Mustang. These 2.3 turbo's are fun to drive. The little booger pulls pretty hard. It's a 190 Hp stock with the small inner cooler.

You could alway's re-locate the turbo if it came down to it. IMHO
Do you have everything already if so just measure the bay and the engine and see what you have to work with room wise.

2.3 liter turbo ford fit under a model A stock hood?
I'm looking to do something a little different. Does anyone know if a 2.3 liter turbo Thunderbird engines will fit inside the stock hood with sides of 28-29 Model A's? Thanks
