|54Rat210||I'm pretty sure I'm using 3/4th conduit. I spoke with a buddy of mine who restores classic cars and he basically told me exactly when u said. So far I got the inner rocker in and floor one rear floor board completed. its been going pretty smoothly. Nice photos. My cars rockers looked identical to the ones in your photos...gone! Lol sorry for the delay in response I been rather busy the past could weeks.|

fitting the doors first is most important..the body might be sagging so if the gaps at the bottom get wider and cant be adjusted out you'll have to lift the body up or pull the gaps together with a come along..once you have the gaps right weld youe supports on the inside of the car so you can leave the doors on and open and close them while your doing the rockers checking the gaps for any changes throughout the job...
One of the things that'll through you off is those rotted out rubber body mounts theres a couple ways to elimanate this from becoming an issue..you can replace them first or replace them all with some with some dummies made with plywood and a hole saw they'll hold the car up evenly all the way around as long as the frame outriggers are intact....Heres a few old pics of how I did mine and what was involved...
BTW I started out using 1/2 x 1/2 square tube but found 3/4" electrical conduit worked well also and plenty strong enough since the forces excerted on it will be trying to streach it or push it ( like a drinking straw is very easy to bend but try to pull it apart or crush it by pushing the ends and its much much stronger ...The nice thing about using conduit is you can flatten the ends and use 1/2 drill screws to hold it all together (no welding)

|54Rat210||Didn't need the cinder blocks. I figured the rockers were so destroyed that if any damage was done its already done. There was almost no rocker panel. Completely rusted and packed with old *** bondo. I took a look everything is still lining up. Tacked up the inner rocker and part of the back floor pan. No problems.|

No problem, but I still would like to see you toss those cinder blocks out in the garden to make a garden boarder or something and use wood blocks for your car.

Yep, 18 gauge mild steel is all you need. That will be thick enough for some strength and thin enough to be able to bend it. But there is some serious forming needed for that floor so be ready for some work.
And without a shadow of a doubt you need to do those rockers first if you are making the floor. You need all that stuff solid and straight, then you make the floor fit the structure.
