|Dave C.||PCV was placed on the vavle cover in 68. In 67 it was on the oil fill tube off the intake manifold. If the block is ok, then sell it to someone restoring an old Vette, Camaro, Nova or Chevelle. Guys are always looking for dated stuff, same with the heads and intake. If you are still set on building a fun SBC, try to find a Vortec engine with 062 or 906 heads. The technology placed in the cylinder heads and block are well worth it compared to the older stuff.|

That's a very early SBC, and it may be early enough that it doesn't have side mounts on the motor if that distributor is original to the motor. The later distributors did not have an oiler on them like that. If it's an early 265 or 283 without side mounts, then it wont fit into later cars requiring side motor mounts, so even if it was salvageable it wont work in many applications.
For future reference, they didn't make a 350 in 1967. Sorry you got taken by a crook.

|Blazin72||Take the block to the machine shop. It could still be good. I had a 350 that had thrown a rod and taken a chunk out of the bottom of a cylinder and ended putting that engine back together with a supercharger and drove it for several years.|

|S10 Racer||I have been in the same boat as you, believing what I was told only to find out I was lied too. I would call the guy back and tell him what you found and ask him for your money back on the motor. It never hurts to ask. The engine stand probably is'nt worth $300.00 unless it can dispense beer too. Sorry for your misfortune but I'm sure everyone here has had something similar happen to them so don't feel like the only fool on earth. Next time, ask to pull the oil pan and inspect it before shelling out money.|

The carb number from the driver side of the carb will tell you the exact year of this carb. More here.

look for a 96 to 2000 350 vortec engine. These engines came with factory roller cams and vortec heads. Should be able to get one in good condition for less than 600.00.
Only thing worth saving on that engine is the q-jet. The engine is worth about $25 at the metal salvage.
