Triaged Stick with rubber. Poly binds up too much unless done just right. Moog makes a line of high durometer bushings that work well.

Thanks for the feedback. I have only used poly once and I did not keep the project long enough to see if it was or was not beneficial. The solid bushings are definately out. I want some ride comfort....

MrJones I don't care for poly bushings.
They do not flex near as much as rubber, and they will split and crack if you drive hard.
I installed them on 3 of my vehicles, and 2 vehicles had split/cracked bushings by the time I got rid of them.

If you truly want hard core performance, replace them with solid bronze bushings, or bearings.
Otherwise use rubber.

suspension rebuild. Poly or not to poly?

Ok here is my goal for my 66 chevelle. Good tight suspension with good handling characteristics but not to the point of autoX or something like that. It will be a BB 4speed car. I will take it to the strip at some point but not regularly. Everything right now is pretty much wore out. Is it worth the extra money to go with poly bushings? MOOG parts for the suspension suitable or something Else? Places to buy or stay away from i.e. Auto Zone , Advance, NAPA?
