MARTINSR Got the new faucet and installed it, it works, WHOOOHOOOOO. Got the front window cover back together (a fiberglass panel that covers the front window) after fabbing one lost bracket, sand blasting them all and painting them and riveting them back on.

Hey, I noticed a while back that Henry hasn't posted in a while, anyone hear anything about why?

No reason not to. You would not be able to put the "z" bend around the holes, but it would be fine just to roll the edges over. I just thought It would be fun to try this.

I dug this old picture out that shows the detail a little better.

The only full dress Harley I will eventually get will have 3 wheels. IN FACT, you should look into one of those, John....

LOL, 2 reasons

First, I am curious to see how close I can reproduce it.

Secondly, Everything in there is new. It would be kind of neat for this to be too.

Thirdly, If I remember there were 106 3/8 inch spot welds drilled out. I hate to clean this panel and plug weld 106 3/8 inch holes. The back side has quite a lot of surface rust.

I know, I know. I don't count that well. That is three reasons.

That poor bike was left outside to rust too long.

If you have a source for used seats, find one like that for my 2000 FXSTS. My wife hates the narrow pillion pad. About 10" wide for the passenger is perfect with the bags.

Last night while I was waiting for sleep to creep up on me, it dawned on me that I could make half the relief in the bead roller, reverse the dies, and make the other half. The challenge may be to get the two haves to look seemless.

After the reliefs are rolled in, I can hopefully cut the hole out and end up with a pretty close reproduction of the piece.

This is what I want to reproduce.
