tech69 this HF notcher kicks but with the exception that you have to do some mods to it. I have only shimmed the part that holds the tube with a 16g piece of sheet and a 24g piece of sheet. It's pretty centered now. I'll worry about tapping the bolts to bigger sizes when there's a need. So far it's doing it's job but it doesn't leave them perfect. You have to do some grinding here and there but I expected that. I love this thing. Not sure how far you have to go into the tube but this is a little less than half way or right about half way.

the roll of dimes looked more like a nose full of boogers til I swapped out the wire for a 1/16" wire. Then things flowed a lot smoother and the crazy angles of the tube didn't affect the weld as much. I'll do another one with the smaller wire and really tweak the amps and see what I get. Then I worry about back tracking on the overlap and all that fancy stuff, just to get it to look cleaner. One step at a time. Not a bad first step though.

then I finally fixed my stud lever by fabricating a little lever. Didn't even need to put teeth on it to grip the stud due to the natural roughness of a cut off wheel.

can't wait to put these to good use. I think the next two will be made when the need arises, and I see one already I'll have to make for the pedal car. These pieces will go into square tubing and held in with a locking pin.

it was a blast till i went down , i was flyingup a dirt/gravel,sand mountian pass. i was hualig butt driffting some s bend turns, came out of the last turn gunned it to about 65/70 going into the nect corner, and the bike came out from under me when the front end slid out from under me.i hit my shoulder first , then my helmet bounced off the ground , i ened up cracking it , and my foot got tngled up in the bike.

i didnt notice the road went from gravel to sand as i was going into that corner and that what did me in. im lucky it was in a sandy spot or id have a ton more road rash.

luckily i was able to limp myself and the bike 14 miles back to the highway leading into town were a passing couple saw me on the sode of the road and stopped. while they stopped a cop drove by and was going to drive me to the hospital , but i got him to take me home and the wife took me , while some friends went and picked my bike up for me

But looking more like a quarter panel again. You'll get it, just not as easily or quickly as you want. I'm in the same boat with my tail panel. Tomorrow the temp is supposed to get to 56, so I plan to sand blast it in the driveway. Then I can final fit it and weld it on.

It's a '39 Columbia sold through Goodyear tire stores called a "Goodyear Hiway patrol".

custom pedal cars info

The Salt Lake Autorama screwed over UVU last year, The college paid for 3 booth spaces IN A ROW for their display. When they showed up they were assigned TWO spaces about 40 feet apart. They didn't get their money back or their 3 paid for spaces so this year they stayed home. UVU Auto scholarship Fund sponsors Utah's largest swap meet and car show in May. I plan on being there in May and asking more questions, Mabe some Picts of this years pedal cars.
